Course Description: This course describes the role of English in various business activities internationally or nationally with a specific focus on the use of English in business correspondence, business presentation, and business ethics.
Assumed Background: The course is designed with the assumed participants: 1) having adequate mastery of linguistic components required to produce acceptable written and spoken presentation, 2) having been familiar with business activities, and 3) having adequate computer skills to support business English
1.2 Course Introduction
In the era of globalization, people’s activities are not anymore restricted to local contexts, but international ones. Interactions are done among businessmen using international means of communication, that is English. Although English is seen as a foreign language, its roles are getting more significant for the success in business activities which are in the forms of oral or written. The appropriate use of English in business contexts will eventually help people succeed in business activities.

2.1 Course Aims
1. To develop an understanding of concepts of business correspondence, with a specific focus on messages, language, and organization of any correspondence.
2. To introduce students some business presentation either in the oral or written forms.
2.2 Learning Objectives
After successfully completing this course you should be able to:
1 Write business letters in an acceptable English
2 Produce effective business letters in any contexts
3 Make oral presentations with acceptable English in specific business activities
4 Produce written English proposals for different business situations.
5 Show attitudes to help succeed in business activities.
